River Café, Bathurst
Bathurst River Café is a fantastic outdoor spot sitting right on the banks of the Macquarie River in Kelso. It is the perfect place to stop after a morning walk around the water. The setup has a great, relaxed garden party vibe that makes you want to slow down and stay a while. You can grab a takeaway coffee and sit out on the timber chairs, which look right down the path toward the riverbank.
Why we love it
The overall mood here is spot on. The soundtrack playing through the garden is excellent, featuring old-school, eclectic jazz. Sitting outside in the breeze with a great coffee and that music playing creates a really cool, nostalgic pocket of calm that is hard to find anywhere else in town.
