The Victoria Hotel on Keppel Street is the ultimate local all-rounder – a colourful, locally owned pub with tonnes of personality. Refurbished in 2019, The Victoria leans straight into its history without trying to be anything it’s not. It’s an old pub with classic old-pub bones, refreshed with bright artwork from local artists and a modern touch that feels welcoming rather than try-hard.
Why we love it
Good food, great energy, and a venue that completely knows exactly who it is. Between the front bar, Little Alberts, and The Backyard, there’s always something happening – whether it's live music, long lunches, or just a steady stream of locals dropping in. The menu covers the classics with a few excellent twists, and the upstairs boutique rooms make staying right in the CBD effortless. It is friendly, incredibly walkable, and doesn’t take itself too seriously.
